Fun Facts: In past years, ball gown was also known as evening gown.  It's elaborate structure and luxurious fabrics, such as satin, lace, chiffon, etc. were mainly worn by the royal and upper classes 
for traditional and private events.

Fun Facts: It sure was a labor of love to sew a ball gown by hand with its fitted bodice, full skirt and petticoat. But with the induction of sewing machines in the 1850's, these dresses were made with quicker turn around time; more importantly, bringing beautiful dresses to so many more.
