 When it comes to your wedding cake there are endless possibilities as to what you want to serve. Today we are going to talk about something that maybe new to most couples. Unless you are familiar with baked good or even a baker yourself, you might be very shocked on the pricing of wedding cakes.

A dummy cake is what some couple choose to use in order to have the look of an extravagant cake without the same cost. So what exactly is a dummy cake?


A dummy cake is a faux cake make out of styrofoam cylinders that are assembled and decorated to mimic the look of a real cake. A dummy cake allows you to have a beautiful photo opt without having to pay for a regular wedding cake. Some couples like to use one layer of real cake for when they do the cake cutting tradition. Other will use an entire dummy cake and go with something a bit more budget friendly like cupcakes and other sweets for their guests. 




Using this type of cake means you can let your imagination run wild when it comes to the decorating. That is because it let's you have a very flat surface that only this type of cake will allow. 


Apart from this it also means you can choose to keep your wedding cake out for display even after the day is over. Which also means you get more for your money.
