Personalized Bridesmaid Proposal Box Ideas

Getting married is such an exciting time in not only the bride and groom's lives but everyone around them! Your family and friends have been there since the beginning and now you both are taking the next big step. Of course you're going to want to have close family and friends right up there when you said I do. So why not ask them to be a part of your wedding day in a cute and special way?

Specially, we're going to be going over creating easy and pretty DIY Bridesmaid proposal boxes! Because nothing says will you be my bridesmaid like a personalized and thoughtful gifts. Although there are pre-made boxes available online and in stores, making one yourself will not only save you money but will also allow you to personally tailor it to each person.

Box options

Let's start by what you will be putting the items in. Typically used is a box, this can be made out of any material you prefer. There are wood boxes, plastic, or pretty glass ones. Choose one that will compliment the theme of your wedding.
Another option that works are tote bags, perfect if your having a destination wedding, or perhaps a pretty basket for that outdoor country vibe.

* A nice touch would be to have the boxes or bags monogrammed, note this is an extra step and not required*

Items to add to the box

Getting to choose what will go into the boxes, this is where the real fun begins!  There are so many options to choose from but remember what makes these boxes special is how you personalize it for each person. It is good to add some generic items each person will get but adjust it to tailor each person. For example, if you're planning to include wine in all of the boxes but you know one of your friends doesn't drink then of course substitute it. Here are some great ideas for your proposal boxes:

  •  A personalized tumbler/ beverage cup. Your bridesmaid will get to relive the magical time whenever they take a sip of their favorite beverage. Some fun options to choose from are: wine tumblers, water containers, or a glass mugs.

  • Photos of great memories between the both of you. Through thick and thin they have stood by your side and now they get to stand by you on your wedding day! Photos are a great reminder of the strong friendship you both share.

  •  Their favorite snack because everyone loves to munch... Nuff said.

  •  If traveling for the wedding, include a monogrammed luggage tag. This is perfect if you're planning a destination wedding. It will not only work great for this trip but for many more to come.

  • Personalized robe or Pajamas. These are the perfect items to get ready in on the big day. If a robe isn't your style, try some comfy and stylish pajamas. It is a bit of splurge to have them monogrammed but if it fits your budget we say go for it.

  •  A personalized card for the official proposal. Officiate the invitation with a whimsical card. If you want to take this personalization a step further, you can easily DIY this portion of the box. No need to purchase cards when you already have paper and markers at home.

  • Another inexpensive item to use are face masks or scrubs. It's easy to find items like these that won't break the bank. For simple DIY projects, you can create beauty facial kits with some simple ingredients you might already have at home. These are a great way to freshen up before the big day.

  • One can never go wrong with a little bubbly to celebrate this exciting moment! Okay maybe you can go wrong if that person does not drink alcohol. So a fun replacement would be sparkling apple cider or any of their favorite drinks.

  •  Last but not least, incorporate a save the date card if you have not already given them out.

Fillers

If using boxes or baskets fillers are usually used to cushion and protect items, typically used is filler paper.  If you are looking for an eco friendly alternative, you can use old newspaper or magazines and create your own.
