Wedding Traditions That Are Being Replaced

We all know how personal weddings are of course, so why do things that don't really suite you or your partner. Wedding traditions are changing and we love to see what modern couples keep and don't keep in their weddings. Some are out dated and some just don't align with what they like. It's totally okay to ditch some of these common wedding traditions and there is no need to worry about it. Here are some common traditions that modern couples are skipping.

Family Financing The Wedding

It is said that traditionally the parents of the bride are the ones that provide most of the finances for the wedding. But in this modern time that is no longer the case. Most couples want to finance their own wedding. It shows independence and also they have more control over what their wedding will look like. If they do receive help from the parents they are most likely to even it out between both set of parents.

Cake Cutting

Couples these days aren't all about the cake. If you feel like cake just isn't your thing don't feel obligated to have one at your wedding. There are so many thing that you can replace for your sweet treat. We have seen a rise in donuts, others get really creative and even make cakes out of sushi. It's all about what speaks to you and what you enjoy as a couple.

Matching Bridesmaids Dresses

I think we can all agree that one dress doesn't always look flattering on everybody. Brides are taking note of this and letting their bridesmaids pick a dress thats perfect for them. A great way to still look put together when doing this is sticking to the same color. You can then choose different cuts and styles. Another popular and fun look is miss matched bridesmaids. You stay in the same color palette but choose completely different dresses.

Not Seeing Each Other Before The Ceremony

We've all heard that saying that it's bad luck to see the bride before the ceremony. Now in days couples are putting that superstition to the side. We have now what is known as the first look. This is where the groom sees the bride all dressed up before the ceremony. It is such a beautiful and special time.
