What Is A First Look?

 We have all heard of the common tradition of the groom not seeing the bride in her wedding dress before the ceremony but over the years this tradition has changed and we are all here for it. In this day in age we now have the first look or the pre-reveal. This is a special time couples choose to either have or not include in their wedding. 

What exactly is a first look?

Well we are glad you asked. A first look is an intimate time that couples share before the ceremony and it is when they are able to see each other for the first time in their full wedding attire. This moment is such a special time that can also include photos taken together. You can also exchange letters and or gifts to each other. This time is so emotional and just as special as seeing each other at the alter for the first time. 

So is a first look for you?

That is completely up to you and your partner but we do have some reason why you should! Apart from it being such an intimate moment to share with your partner there are other pros to having this. 

It Can Help You Feel Calm

Yes that is right. Having a first look eases the jitters of seeing each other for the first time in front of everyone when you make your grand entrance. Instead it is just a special moment with you and your partner, maybe even your photographer. Either way this time is when emotions are running high and then you get a sense of peace when you complete the first look. It is also a time to talk to your partner give each other some words of affirmation to help settle all of the emotions you might be feeling. 

You Have More Time Together

Your wedding may seem to be over in a blink of an eye so getting to spend some extra time alone together with your partner is great. Especially because you and your parter will want to talk all of your guests it might not give you two as much time together as you would like. Having a first look allows you those extra minutes that mean the world to each other at the end of the day. 

Great Photos

Sometimes it can get hectic trying to get photos together during the wedding so a first look is your time to shine. These photos are also so beautiful and so full of emotion. Your photographer is going to be able to capture better with a first look than when you make your grand entrance. These will turn into memories that will be treasured for years.
