Choosing Music For Your Wedding

Music brings a celebration to life. If you could think of a soundtrack to represent your love story what would it sound like? This is a great question to ask yourself as you sit down to pick out music for your wedding day. Music moves us in ways we can't explain and to some, music is what brought them together as a couple. So it's a very important factor in a wedding. Here are some tips to help you put your playlists together. Let us know what you think.

What Feeling Do You Want to Convey?

When your guests are walking into the ceremony or the reception think about what feeling you want them to have. Receptions are associated with more laid back party vibe than ceremony. But that isn't the case for every wedding. Some couples want that same up beat energy as they walk down the aisle. It's all up to how you want you and your guests to feel.

How Many Songs Will Be Designated?

Make a list of what songs you have to choose. There are certain songs that get all of the attention like the first dance, the walk down the aisle, etc. Think about the traditions you are going to include. Do you want a certain song for your bouquet toss? Do you want a special song for a the father daughter dance? These are all very important to think about.

Band or DJ?

The age old question is a good one to think about when you are choosing your wedding music. Some bands only stick to a genre they know. Some DJ's can be stingy and not want to play certain songs. So many sure you have an idea of what you want to play and be prepared to ask if they will be able to accommodate.

Have A Listening Party

Create a playlist with your partner and take time with each other to decide what songs work and which don't. It could be a great date night and you can even practice dancing with each other. You get to have a special date and wedding plan all in one.
