Should You DIY Your Wedding Decor?

Sometimes in efforts to save money or it just seems like an easy task, couples choose to DIY some items. Although some work out, more intricate and tricky decor might not fall into the category of DIY. So the question is, should you DIY things for your wedding? We say it depends on some factors.

Time

Think about the time it's going to take you to DIY the items. If it's something easy like printing out table numbers we say go for it. It's going to save you money in the long run and it's a simple piece that doesn't require too much time nor profession. However if you want something unique and hand painted that is going to take much more time that you might not have disposable. Same goes for thrifting pieces to decorate your venue. It can take a lot of time finding the right pieces and you might not have that time. So make sure you think about that before starting your DIY project.

Skill

You might be thinking "How hard can this be?" for certain items. But if you don't have the skill to do it, it might cost you not only time but more money to have it done. If you have't done the craft before the wedding now would not be the time to test out for a new skill. Leave it to the professionals.

Saving Money

Like we mentioned, you might think a DIY is the perfect way to save some money and it can be. But that is not always the case. Having a professional might save you more money. It means not having to pay higher prices for rushing shipping or rushing the time of the vendor. You need time to compare the pricing and find the right fit for you.

A Helping Hand

A DIY project will be a lot easier if you have people to help you. Trying to do everything on your own is a big mistake and you will burn out. Look towards you wedding party to help with DIYs. It can even act as a great bonding activity. It you have a helping hand DIYing certain things is much more attainable.
